About Us

About our name: The word 'Knysna' is thought to have come from an ancient Outeniqua word meaning "place of ferns" so we chose to name our B&B in honour of those iconic fern plants of the Knysna forests:

Stay with us and explore the Garden Route, one of South Africa's favourite holiday destinations. Knysna was voted twice as South Africa's favourite town.

Here in the Garden Route, the unfenced Garden Route National Park offers a lush mix of mountains, forests, fynbos, sea, wetlands, waterfalls, and beaches and is perfect for birding, cycling, walking, etc.

Sedgefield and Plettenberg are only 20 minutes away, so Knysna offers a perfect base to explore the area.

The Garden Route is conveniently situated mid-way between Cape Town (500 km from Knysna) and Port Elizabeth (280 km) and is a beautiful combination of water, forest and mountains.
